Crimea
Crimea - one of the most popular resort and tourist centres
not only Ukraine, but also the East Europe . Since 1991
Crimea has the status of autonomous republic. The population
of Crimea - 2 650 thousand persons, the area - about 27
thousand square kilometres. The capital of Crimea, city
of Simferopol, has the population about 400 thousand inhabitants.
Crimea represents the peninsula washe Black and Azov seas.
Nature
Almost 2/3 parts of peninsula occupy plains and steppe. In
the south of peninsula mountains tower. They were stretched
by three ridges along the sea almost on 180 kilometres from
Sevastopol up to Feodosiya. Their northern slopes slightly,
and southern are steep. The peninsula is rich rare plants
and animals, unique landscapes. Many of them are under reserved
protection. The general area of protected territory makes
about 700 square kilometres. Many of reserved objects are
open for visiting of tourists.
Climate
Southern coast of Crimea the subtropical (submediterranean)
climate, northern flat part of Crimea - has a continental
climate of a moderate zone. Summer in Crimea is hot, solar
and dry, only short deposits sometimes drop out. It is possible
to count its borders middle of May and the end of September.
The autumn frequently pleases with silent sunny days (even
weeks), but not a rarity and torrential rains.
